A blaze Tuesday at the Camelot Apartments in southeast Colorado Springs happened when a room enthusiast sitting on its electrical cord created the cord to overheat and spark, fire officials claimed.
The fire, which was set out by evening, started about 5 p.m. and displaced 28 visitors from the complex around Airport Road and Murray Boulevard.
Forty firefighters responded to the blaze. Smoke billowed from a four-unit establishing on the west facet of the complex when firefighters arrived, although flames shot out of a ground-stage window.
